(Optional) Upgrading the cluster version

When Neutree releases a new cluster version, you can upgrade the cluster version online without deleting and recreating the cluster.

Note

• During the upgrade of a static node cluster, the configurations of created endpoints are preserved. The cluster temporarily stops serving requests and automatically recovers after the upgrade. It is recommended to perform the upgrade during off-peak hours.
• Kubernetes clusters use a rolling update strategy, so service is not interrupted during the upgrade.

Prerequisites

• Import the cluster images of the target version into the container registry used by the cluster. For static node clusters, see Manually importing static node cluster images. For Kubernetes clusters, see Manually importing Kubernetes cluster images.

• Import the engine images used by the cluster into the container registry used by the cluster. See Importing an engine.

Procedure

1. Log in to the Neutree management interface. In the cluster list or details page, click the menu icon (…) and select Upgrade.

2. In the dialog box that appears, select the target version.

3. After confirming that the version information is correct, click Confirm to start the upgrade. The cluster status changes to Upgrading.

4. Wait for the upgrade to complete and confirm that the cluster status returns to Running.

Follow-up

To roll back to a specific version, perform the upgrade operation again and select the cluster images of the target version.
